Translations of common words

Many applicants will submit ancillary documents as evidence for their case. These include:

  • Proof of receipt of German pensions for confinement in ghettos and concentration camps
  • Documentation from the International Tracing Service
  • Documentation from the International Red Cross

Additionally, identity documents may need to be sent in. All of these might call for translation of common words into Polish (e.g, place of birth, mother’s maiden name, etc.). To this end, please find here a glossary of common words and phrases used on such documents along with their Polish translations.
