Holocaust survivors who are recipients of the quarterly benefit known colloquially as the “Polish pension” should now be receiving a letter from ZUS, the Polish pension agency, detailing the new payments for this year. Beginning on March 1, 2023, the quarterly payment has increased a record 14.8%. This translates into a new quarterly payment of approximately US$430 — approximately US$77 more than the previous payment (as of the May 15 exchange rate from Polish zĆotys to US dollars). This new amount will be reflected on the next payment date of June 20.
